About

Sundridge is a sleepy village tucked beside Highway 11, not far from Algonquin Park, a year-round destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. The village sits placidly on the north shore of Lake Bernard, which boldly claims its place in history as the world’s largest freshwater lake without an island.

On December 6, 1990, Kidd’s Home Hardware opened its doors at a new location in Sundridge. Originally a 2,400 square foot hardware store, it grew into Kidd’s Home Hardware Building Centre, expanding to 15,000 square feet. Over the years, Kidd’s HHBC further expanded to 19,000 square feet of retail space, with lumber yards spanning 8 acres and several outbuildings, bringing the total to 33,000 square feet.

In recent years, Kidd’s Home Hardware Building Centre has welcomed new ownership, who are dedicated to continuing the tradition of excellent service and community support that the store has been known for. The new owners bring a fresh perspective and a strong commitment to maintaining the store’s reputation as a cornerstone of Sundridge. The current team, a blend of long-standing employees and new faces, is passionate about meeting the needs of the community and looks forward to carrying Kidd’s Home Hardware Building Centre into the future with the same dedication and care that has been its hallmark for decades.
